When
I met Jay, he was working as
a technician and managing an
independent automotive repair
shop, (Jay started his technician
career in 1983 in Israel). In
August 1995, we got married,
and two years later we had our
daughter, PriEl. The shop that
Jay worked for was sold, and
the owner opened a car lot and
took Jay as a partner.
As
you may know, used car lots
make lots of money, but there
was a little problem called
Jay. Jay broke more deals in
a week than he had made in the
two years he was there. He did
not feel comfortable selling
cars without disclosing all
the things that were wrong with
them. After two long and miserable
years, Jay decided to go back
and do what he loves most- work
on cars.
At
that point, I was three month
pregnant with our second daughter.
We found a nice hidden spot
in the Heights, and we moved
there in January 2001. The
place was rundown and needed
a lot of love. We spent everyday
in the year to come working
on the place making it look
good, while working on cars
and building clientele.
We
started the business with
one customer who was also
our silent partner, a lot
of debt and a big vision for
a beautiful, honest, professional
auto repair facility. We had
no employees so everything
was done by us. We came up
with the name for the business,
we designed our logo, installed
the equipment, and much more.
Four months after we opened
the shop, our second daughter,
OrEl, was born. Those who
have been our loyal customers
since then remember OrEl being
in the shop with us daily.
We
worked hard in the business and on the business,
and we loved each moment. We kept working
hard and at a certain point we added the body
shop. Two years later, we had an opportunity
to buy another shop that was going out of
business. This allowed us to acquire more
customers and some fleet accounts. Another
year went by and our partner needed to get
out of our partnership, so we bought
We
had about 18 months left before our lease
was up. We started looking for a place. The
first place we found, we started renovating,
and shortly after ran into problems with the
neighbor. We spent the next few months trying
to make it work, but that was not the place
for us. We tried several other locations,
but they were all too small. On the last day
of our lease, we finally closed on our new
location. We moved in that very same day.
Everyone worked hard to pack, load, transfer,
unpack, and organize. We were open for business
the very next day.
We have been here in our new home for three
years, and we love it. We plan to stay in
this location and keep growing the business.
We have wonderful customers and employees
who have been with us all these years, and
we are feeling very blessed to have each and
everyone.
We
want to thank you all for your continued support,
and we want to keep serving you and educating
you about your vehicle. For our employees,
we want them to continue with their education
and training. We want them to continue their
mental and personal growth. For us the owners,
keep working and loving what we do. Both of
us constantly take classes and training to
improve and learn skills, and better ourselves.
For our girls, keep raising you with love
and pride. Keep working hard at school. Both
of you are the source of energy that keeps
us motivated to do better and Excel in what
we do. We are proud to be family owned and
operated.
